Tyler Technologies Inc. and the city of Surprise, Arizona, have entered into an agreement for the city to utilize two of Tyler’s technology solutions for planning, regulatory oversight and maintenance, the firm announced today from Plano, Texas.

The contract, for Tyler’s Munis and EnerGov platforms, will include software licenses, implementation and project management, as well as ongoing support. The city desired to reform obsolete systems. Recognizing Tyler’s track record in the public sector, Surprise arrived at their conclusion to enlist Tyler’s help after conducting a search of integrated systems designed to eliminate paper-dependent processes, enhance program interactivity and enable employee and general public administrative independence.

“We were looking for a modern business solution to replace our outdated legacy systems; the best solution to streamline our business processes, allow integration to reduce redundancy and have the correct data at our fingertips for quick business decisions,” Surprise IT Director and CIO Tammie Hollowell said.

The city will have improved communication, more automation and modernized processes across multiple departments. Tyler’s EnerGov platform provides permitting, land and license management solutions, while Content Manager reduces paper dependency by capturing, managing and archiving electronic information.
