Veteran cloud computing executive Steve Crusenberry has joined ClearDATA as senior vice president of products, the company announced Wednesday from Phoenix.

Crusenberry has over two decades of infrastructure and cloud computing-specific executive experience in IT, engineering and operations. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of products and engineering for Rackspace, where he managed the hybrid, public and private cloud products.

“I firmly believe in ClearDATA's vision for making health care healthier every single day," Crusenberry said. "I'm excited to join our mission to first fix the universally fragmented and broken health IT infrastructure, then enhance privacy and security to protect patient health information, and ultimately break down siloes to enable true data exchange."

As new SVP of products, Crusenberry will navigate a long-term vision for ClearDATA's secure cloud platform to deliver best-in-class technologies for the health care industry.

"Steve is one of the cloud industry's foremost experts on product development and strategy for innovative, enterprise-scale managed services," Matt Ferrari, ClearDATA’s chief technology officer, said. "His talents are a huge win for our customers and will contribute considerably to ClearDATA's mission to modernize the health care IT infrastructure."

Headquartered in Tempe, ClearDATA is the leading HIPAA-compliant cloud hosting, backup, disaster recovery and information security services exclusively for the health care industry. It serves over 300,000 practitioners, offering a secure alternative to on premise data storage and significant benefits for data analytics.
