Chandler, Arizona-based DBSI named Joe Kim as its chief operating officer on Wednesday, just one day after logging a record-breaking quarter in both revenue growth and new client bookings.

Founded in 1998, DBSI helps banks and credit unions create highly efficient, profitable branches, providing comprehensive banking transformation services such as design, technology, equipment, construction, digital and signage solutions.

A consultant, entrepreneur and professor, Kim joins DBSI with nearly 25 years of experience of leading companies in innovation, branding and operations. He will oversee DBSI’s sales, marketing and operations teams, as well as work directly with clients to strategize innovative branch operations.

"I am excited to join such an amazing and forward-thinking company such as DBSI," Kim said. "They have the right team, vision and strategy to help financial institutions change the way banking is done today… . I look forward to taking this industry and DBSI to the next level."

Most recently, Kim led Twist, a brand and innovation consulting firm with clients such as Gatorade, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, McDonald's, Kellogg's, Allstate and Hershey.

"Now, more than ever, innovation and operational excellence play a critical role in the long-term success of the banking industry," John W. Smith, CEO of DBSI, said. "Joe is incredibly talented and exemplifies the best of both with a strong history of helping companies achieve real results. He is a key addition to driving our clients and our own growth plans."
