Sunquest Information Systems Inc., an Arizona-based medical information systems provider, recently announced plans to move to new quarters that formerly housed the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) headquarters in Tucson.

Sunquest opted for the office space at 3300 Sunrise Blvd. based on its open floor plan, natural lighting and scenic views. Sunquest said the aesthetic environment will be highly conducive to productivity and teamwork. The move is scheduled to be complete this fall.

"Our employees are our greatest assets and are united in Sunquest's mission to make health care smarter and patients safer,” Sunquest President Matthew Hawkins said. “Selecting 3300 Sunrise Blvd. as our headquarters is really an investment in our employees, our performance-oriented culture and in Tucson as the place that Sunquest will call home for years to come."

The diagnostic and laboratory service firm will achieve the changeover through the Sunrise Campbell Investors, a partnership backed by Larsen Baker LLC, which bought the 83,000-square-foot building in 2014. Larsen Baker’s Don Baker suggested that the purchase was a calculated risk, but that the firm has a strong commitment to Tucson.

“We think Tucson can compete for world-class high tech companies, and this building is the finest Class A office building ever built in Tucson,” Baker said. “We knew we would find a great tenant for this architectural gem."

Sunquest has engaged Seaver Franks Architects A.I.A. for help with design consultation.

"We will create a setting where our employees, clients and members of the Tucson community will find inspiration to innovate and collaborate to achieve our mission," Hawkins said.
