The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and the Maricopa Association of Governments will host a panel discussion Thursday to explore how Arizona's business and education communities can work together to strengthen and grow the state's economy.
The state's economy is one of the healthier ones in the nation, and to keep it that way, qualified individuals will be needed to fill positions and tackle challenges that surface in Arizona industries. Some of the jobs will require that individuals have access to career and technical education pathways.
In an attempt to coordinate a cohesive plan, the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and the Maricopa Association of Governments are hosting the discussion, titled “Opportunity Arizona: Identifying a Qualified Workforce Through Career and Technical Education,” which begins at 7 a.m. Thursday in the Sheraton Grand Phoenix.
Blobal Pathways Institute Director Bill Symonds is scheduled to be the keynote speaker. Guest speakers will include Mike Ellola, vice president of America for Aerospace Integrated Supply Chain, and Diana McCarthy, Western Maricopa Education Center's director of business partnerships and legislative affairs.
Tickets for the event are $55 per individual, and a table of 10 can be reserved for $650.
