The Arizona Corporation Commission began hearings Tuesday on an application from UNS Electric, the UniSource-owned electric provider for Santa Cruz and Mohave counties, to raise its rates.

The hearings are scheduled to run for several days in Tucson, during which time the commission look over the UNS Electric's request to raise in revenues, fees and charges for their customers.

The commission is inviting residents of the counties who will be affected to public comment sessions that will be held later in March.

The commission will review the case in June.
