The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality named Ian Bingham as its communications director.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) recently appointed ADEQ Ombudsman and Tribal Liaison Ian Bingham to communications director.

Bingham's new position will involve counseling agency executive leadership; proactive marketing and branding activities, internal and external communication and outreach. He will continue his duties as ombudsman and tribal liaison.

"Mr. Bingham leads by example – his commitment to the environment and our community go far beyond his work at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in his service as a member of the board of directors for the Stewardship Action Council, Arizona Environmental Strategic Alliance adviser and mentoring youth by coaching basketball since 1989," ADEQ Director Misael Cabrera said.

Since the mid-1990s, Bingham has been responsible for designing and implementing waste removal processes and performance improvement.

Bingham's 25 years of agency service includes management posts in the underground storage tank compliance program, waste programs division enforcement coordinator, Arizona Environmental Performance Track Program administrator, voluntary environmental stewardship program coordinator and Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee representative.
