Wal-Mart has introduced Walmart Pay, a safe, convenient way for customers to pay with their smartphones, in its stores in Arizona.

Customers have access to the checkout service in more than 110 Wal-Mart stores in the state.

Wal-Mart is the first retailer to offer its own payment solution that works with any iOS or Android device in any checkout lane and with any major credit, debit, pre-paid or Wa-Mmart gift card, all via the mobile Walmart app.

Checkout with Walmart Pay is  a three step process:

1. Visit any checkout register, open the Walmart app and select Walmart Pay, then activate your phone's camera.

2. At any time during checkout, scan the code displayed at the register to connect the Walmart Pay app.

3. The transaction is complete and an e-receipt will be sent to the app.

“We can’t wait to hear what our customers and associates in Arizona think of Walmart Pay," Daniel Eckert, senior vice president of services, Walmart U.S., said. "The service was built to make shopping easier and faster, something we know our customers want. Walmart Pay is a powerful addition to our app, a tool that we’re using to transform the shopping experience by seamlessly connecting our online assets and our stores for customers. The service opens the door to new and better ways we can serve the 140 million customers who shop our stores each week.”
