The Arizona Corporation Commission has OK'd the transfer of two small water companies to larger water providers to ensure safety and efficiency of water delivery to customers.

The commission approved an application from Jake’s Corner Water Systems for Management Systems LLC to take over the operation. Jake’s Corner Water Systems provides water to only 20 customers in an area 18 miles outside of Payson in Gila County. The company’s system has had issues with arsenic that it has not been able to resolve. It also did not have sufficient storage to serve its existing customers.

Management Systems will build a new storage tank with a minimum 5,000-gallon capacity; it will monitor the water quality to ensure it is brought up to standards. A Certificate of Convenience and Necessity will be issued for Management Systems for the take over.

Commissioners also approved the transfer of Wickenburg Ranch Water LLC and Wickenburg Ranch Wastewater LCC to the town of Wickenburg. The companies served 110 customers in the Wickenburg Ranch development north of the town of Wickenburg. The transfer will allow the town to annex the development. Customers in the development will likely receive a reduction in their bills.
