Tucson Electric Power (TEP) has a new mobile app to notify customers about power outages and to allow customers to make payments or study their energy use patterns.

The app is free and available for Apple devices at Apple's App Store and for Android devices at Google Play.

"Our goal is to provide a convenient new way for customers to manage their account and stay up-to-date if a power outage occurs," David Hutchens, TEP president and CEO, said. "The app has many useful features, and we’re planning to add even more in the future."

With the app, customers can also report power outages and check the status of power restoration efforts when outages occur. App users can choose to receive push notifications about bills and power outages that affect their homes or businesses. The app also allows for easier bill payment and offers tips for saving energy and cutting electricity costs.

The TEP website has also been redesigned to be mobile-friendly.
