A public notice has been issued by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), which plans to renew the Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) permit to the town of Snowflake.

Snowflake applied for a renewal AZPDES permit that allows them to release up to 0.6 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from its wastewater treatment plant into Cottonwood Wash in the Little Colorado River Basin in Township 13N, Range 21 E, Section 14, in Mojave County. The Snowflake treatment plant receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources. Sludge from the plant is taken to Painted Desert Landfill.

Call 602-771-4380 or email recordscenter@azdeq.gov 24 hours in advance to schedule an appointment to review the information.

Anyone may also submit comments or request a public hearing on the proposed action in writing. Send the information to Richard Mendolia, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Water Quality Division, 1110 W. Washington St., Phoenix, Arizona 85007.
