The Arizona Department of Transportation is working on its long-range transportation plan and seeks input from the public.

ADOT has developed an online survey and asks site visitors to rank transportation priorities such as safety, technology, accessibility and maintenance. The survey includes a fictitious budget that allows you to prioritize how much money should be spent on each concern. It also poses potential scenarios and asks how survey takers would reassess priorities under certain conditions.

This survey allows Arizona residents to experience issues faced by transportation planners, such as setting priorities and making difficult choices when resources are limited.

So far, participants have ranked safety and expansion as key concerns. ADOT seeks more input. The survey is available until Nov. 11 at whatmovesyouarizona.metroquest.com and can be taken via computer, phone or tablet.

It’s up to the public, policymakers and communities to let ADOT know what is important to them, so the survey is immensely helpful. ADOT is working on its long-term transportation plan now.

Visit azdot.gov/WhatMovesYouArizona for more information on long-term transportation plans or to leave a comment.

ADOT expects to complete its long-term plan early next year.
