Arizona State University kicked off 2017 with a goal to raise $1.5 billion in hopes to provide a better future, economy and health sphere for its students.

Campaign ASU 2020, as it is called, is “an institution-wide resource-raising effort to sustain and build its momentum as a new prototype for higher education that is inclusive and excellent, locally engaged and globally relevant and committed to fundamental solutions for the world's most pressing challenges.”

Within the three-year campaign, the university has prioritized six goals: ensure student access and excellence; champion student success; elevate the academic enterprise; fuel discovery, creativity and innovation; Drive Sun Devil competitiveness; and enrich our communities.”

As of now, the campaign is still in the premature stages of being implemented fully. However, the university has already seen donations in gifts and commitments, the university reported. These gifts were given by past students of the university and supporters.

ASU encourages others to get involved with the campaign at giveto.asu.edu.
