Greater Phoenix Chamber honors local businesses for positive community impact

Eight local companies have been awarded by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) for the positive influence they have on the community.

The award were presented at the chamber's annual IMPACT awards event.

The large companies that received awards were Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, 2017 Arizona Advocate; Southwest Airlines, 2017 Community Champion; EPCOR Water USA, 2017 Economic Driver; and Sonora Quest Laboratories, 2017 Exceptional Innovator.

Small to medium-size companies that were honored include Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation, 2017 Arizona Advocate; Crisis Response Network; 2017 Community Champion; ASU Gammage, 2017 Economic Driver; and Redflex Traffic Systems Inc., 2017 Exceptional Innovator.

GPCC also added a IMPACTful Non-Profit category award this year. The winner was Duet: Partners in Health & Aging.

“This year’s IMPACT Awards recipients are a testament to the success that can be achieved through dedication to leadership, innovation and community,” GPCC President and CEO Todd Sanders said in a press release. “These businesses and organizations will continue to drive the growth of the Greater Phoenix region for years to come.”

Southwest Airlines and ASU Gammage were also named the large and small business of the year during an awards event held May 10.

This is the 30th year the chamber has given out the IMPACT awards. The chamber represents about 2,400 businesses in the Greater Phoenix region.
