Five Arizona companies were recently awarded for their work at ensuring a fair and ethical business place in the state.

The Better Business Bureau’s annual BBB Torch Awards for Ethics were handed out during the organizations 16th dinner, which was sponsored by Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, according to a news release.

The winners included Loud Rumor, a marketing company that focuses on fitness studios and gyms in Scottsdale; Champs Family Automotive, an automotive company in Goodyear; Lucid Agency, a digital marketing agency based in Tempe; Howard Air, a Phoenix heating and air conditioning company; and WebPT, a rehab therapy group based in Phoenix that focuses on patient care.

Along with the winners, the BBB honored 10 businesses for their ethical practices, including Larson Air Conditioning, Southwest Services Co., Benefit Logic Inc, Spa Lamar, Arizona Foundation Solutions LLC, Two Men and A Truck, Arrowhead Honda, Dircks Moving & Logistics, American Vision Windows and George Brazil Air Conditioning & Heating.  

The organization also handed out its 2017 Luminary Award to former BBB board director Susan Frank, the release states. The award recognizes a local community leader who demonstrates the spirit of BBB.

Anthony Robles, a 2011 NCAA champion who has written a book on his journey as a one-legged wrestler, gave a keynote address.
