The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation (GPCF) recently initiated AZComplianceRiskTalent.com, a website designed to increase compliance and risk management awareness, helping professionals stay informed of career opportunities.

The new platform was born of the need to compensate for “talent shortages” in the local job pool, coordinating education and training programs with job creators’ needs, according to the chamber. It lists jobs, training opportunities and more.

Stakeholders expressed agreement with the need to strengthen connections between employers and prospective team members. Russ Johnson, CEO of Merchants Information Solutions, said that conscientious and continuous action is necessary to fill slots in the compliance and risk management sector due to its low public profile.

“Compliance and Risk Management jobs are some of the most important roles an organization has to fill and yet this fact goes largely unknown outside of the industry, because we have not done the job of raising visibility and awareness,” Johnson said in a news release.

Lockton Companies’ Executive Vice President Kevin Cummings said the industry itself needs to brush up on self-promotion.

“Rather than our narrowly focusing on our own individual recruiting efforts, imagine the excitement and energy we can create when all of us work together to attract new talent," Cummings said in the release. "The old paradigm is about to shift.”

Johnson and Cummings serve as co-chairs for the GPCF’s Compliance & Risk Management Workforce Collaborative. GPCF is the Phoenix Chamber’s charitable and educational branch.
