Metso, a Finnish mining and aggregates industries firm, opened a Mesa, Ariz., office Sept. 18, in a ceremony that was officiated by Metso President Perttu Louhiluoto.

"The Mesa service facility is strategically located in Arizona to provide local service to our growing mining and aggregate customer base in the southwestern USA and Mexico," Terry J. Wilkins, Metso senior VP for USA and Canada Minerals, said.

The new venue represents Metso’s continued investment in offering local services close to customers' business locations and includes value-added services designed to improve productivity and reduce operational costs throughout the complete life cycle of mining and aggregates customers' projects.

"The Mesa facility complements our global network of service centers and is part of our investments in customer closeness, so that we can extend and improve the service we provide," Louhiluoto said.

The center's full-scope offerings include field service, repair, wear and spare parts and life cycle service solutions. The Mesa facility employs close to 60 service experts.

With facilities in Peru and Mexico, the company is planning a new service center opening in Labrador City, Canada, later this year.
