Wood Partners, a national real estate development firm, announced plans on Tuesday for a new 225-unit apartment community called “3rd and Thomas” to be constructed in Phoenix, Arizona.

With its strategic location in the heart of Midtown, the property will be near shopping, dining, entertainment and recreation areas. It also will be close to the museum district, and the North Central and Downtown Phoenix areas with easy access to light rail and freeway routes.

“3rd and Thomas is centrally located to connect residents to both downtown and the best of what this vibrant neighborhood has to offer,” Todd Taylor, development director for Wood Partners in Arizona and Nevada, said.

The development is expected to include a clubhouse, Wi-Fi lounge, state-of-the-art fitness center and pool. Designated bike paths and bicycle parking will also complement other modes of transportation. Capping the experience, a sky deck will provide a beautiful view of Phoenix’s famed sunsets.

“Phoenix is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the nation, and this property presents an exciting opportunity to create another cutting-edge, walkable community that’s attractive to our target demographic, which includes both young professionals and empty nesters alike,” Taylor said.

3rd and Thomas is one of four recent Wood Partners’ development projects. Demolition on the existing property will begin soon, with groundbreaking scheduled for December.
