Salt River Project (SRP) recently appointed Association and District Council Member for Seat 8 Christopher Dobson to fill a vacancy left by Carolyn Pendergast, who announced that she was stepping down from her District At-Large Seat 11 post.

Dobson, 42, has served on the Association and District Council since May 2006. He is a partner with the Rolling Hay Company, based in Chandler.

"I am honored to have been appointed to the SRP board and look forward to carrying on the mission of providing reliable and affordable water and power to millions of people in the Valley," Dobson said. "SRP provides critical services that contribute to our quality of life and I am committed to carefully considering the issues we face and making decisions in the best interests of all of our customers."

Pendergast, a public relations specialist, has served on the SRP board since June 2006. Her family pioneered the service area in the early 20th century, including her grandfather, who donated land for the construction of Roosevelt Dam.

“I am proud to have been a fourth generation of Pendergasts helping to further SRP's dedication to reliable water and power for generations to come,” she said.

As Arizona’s primary utility company, Phoenix-based Salt River Project has delivered low-cost, reliable power and water for more than 100 years.
