The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) recently scheduled an open meeting on the ninth biennial transmission assessment workshop at 9:00 a.m. June 1 in ACC Hearing Room One, 1200 W. Washington St. in Phoenix.

Anyone planning to build a transmission line in Arizona is required to file a 10-year plan with the ACC "to assure that adequate transmission import capability is available.”  The ACC biennially reviews the plans and issues a written decision regarding the adequacy of the existing and planned transmission facilities to meet the energy needs of the state.

The commissioners can also use this meeting to ask the public questions about the topics outlined in the agenda. Because of this, anyone involved in the potential issues on the agenda should attend the meeting along with their legal representatives.
