The Arizona Corporation Commission is warning business owners against bogus solicitations requesting the owners to sign up for certificates of good standing.

A company called United Filings solicits businesses, urging them to pay for services to receive a certificate of good standing, the warning  said. The solicitation appears legitimate because it includes the recipient's company’s name, address and entity number. Fine print at the bottom of the paper solicitation indicates that the company is not affiliated with the commission, but the document looks official and may confuse some.

The Arizona Corporation Commission has no affiliation with United Filings. Business owners can obtain a certificate of good standing through the commission’s website at http://ecorp.azcc.gov.
