The Arizona Department of Transportation said work on the future interchange of Grand Avenue (U.S. 60) and Bell Road in Surprise continues and preparations are being made to pave the westbound Grand Avenue lanes near Bell Road.

Construction of a new 134th Avenue connection to Bell Road is also progressing.

The project team plans to reopen the closed section of Bell Road between 134th Drive and West Point Parkway by November, on schedule. Access to businesses in the area near the closure will be maintained.

Bell Road traffic can use alternate routes along Dysart, Greenway and Litchfield roads. Drivers should exercise caution in the area and be mindful of traffic signs and speed limits.
