The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) recently approved an application that will facilitate the expansion of wastewater handling in the West Valley.

The commission approved an extension-of-services certificate to Liberty Utilities to provide much-needed wastewater utility service for the upcoming Zanjero Trails development in Litchfield Park. Once completed, Zanjero Trails will have a 4,495 residential single-family home customers and 4,894 equivalent customers including schools, restaurants, commercial customers, multifamily homes and light industrial facilities.

The development will take place in six phases spanning 20 years. Construction for the wastewater services will begin next year.

Liberty Utilities serves 20,500 water customers within the cities of Litchfield Park, Goodyear and Avondale.

The Arizona Corporation Commission gave approval for all phases of the project.
