The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce said Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will be adding new retail options for visitors at Terminal 4, the airport’s busiest terminal, after the Phoenix City Council approved the first phase of new retail contracts for the terminal.

Plans call for 21 new shops to open in phases during the rest of this year.

Shops will include newsstands, clothing boutiques, candy shops, jewelry stores and a sunglasses shop. Two new spas will open in the terminal as well, along with technology-based stores offering phone and tablet accessories and headphones. Another retail location will showcase artwork from Arizona artisans.

This is the first of two phases of retail renovation. The second phase is underway and, if approved by the City Council, the next batch of shops could open by the end of next year.
