The Bell Road overpass at Grand Avenue (US 60) in Surprise is on track to reopen Nov. 22 in time for holiday season, though unexpected delays could occur, such as extreme weather issues.

The rest of the massive Arizona Department of Transportation project to transform the area with a modern traffic interchange should be completed in spring. The work includes adding ramps to connect Bell Road with Grand Avenue and to finish eastbound Grand Avenue traffic lanes.

Bell Road remains closed between 134th Avenue and West Point Parkway to help reduce the project's length and the impact of construction. Nearby businesses will still be open and accessible during construction.

The main detour routes during the Bell Road project include Dysart, Greenway and Litchfield roads. Pay attention to signage and speed limits in the construction zone to ensure safety.
