Tempe is making it easy for people to get to and from New Year's Eve festivities around Mill Avenue this year with a number of free services, thanks to Coors Light Free Rides.

Coors Light Free Rides is sponsoring free rides on the bus, light rail and ADA Dial-A-Ride services from 7 p.m. Dec. 31 through the end of the service day. For those riding before 7 p.m., one ride on a bus or light rail will cost $2.

Those traveling the Valley Metro Rail should exit the Mill Avenue/3rd Street station to access the holiday celebrations.

Valley Metro bus routes will follow a regular Saturday schedule on New Year's Eve. On Jan. 1 and 2, the bus and rail services will follow a Sunday schedule.

Mill Avenue will be closed to traffic from University Drive to Rio Salado Parkway. Several east and west streets near Myrtle and Ash Avenues will be closed as well. Please visit www.tempe.gov/streetclosures for specific details.

For those driving downtown, public parking costs range from $5 to $20 on average.
