Numerous downtown Tempe streets will be closed or restricted near the route for the Arizona Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon events Jan. 13-15, the city said on its website.

At least one street will be completely closed during the entire weekend. Rio Salado Parkway will be closed between Ash and Mill Avenues from 8:30 a.m. Jan. 13 to 4 p.m. January 15.

The off ramps on Loop 202 will also be restricted at Scottsdale Road, with the ramp at McClintock Drive closed. All non-event traffic will be detoured onto northbound Scottsdale Road, and the eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at McClintock Drive will be closed.

A full list of road closures and restrictions is available at http://www.tempe.gov/Home/Components/News/News/8024/1546.

Many bus routes will also be affected during the weekend. A complete list of bus detours is available at http://www.valleymetro.org/rider_alerts/index.htm?alert=3147.

Valley Metro Rail will add service on the 15th for the marathon. To help participants reach the starting lines in Phoenix and Tempe, trains will run every 10 minutes from 5 a.m. until the race starts at 7:30 a.m. During the race, the service resumes to a typical Sunday schedule. An all-day transit pass is available for $4 from rail-station vending machines.
