The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce in Arizona urges all to support for SB 1198, whch deals with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

“Last summer, an unscrupulous attorney indiscriminately filed thousands of lawsuits against unsuspecting businesses claiming their facilities violated Arizona’s disability standards,” the Chamber reported. They explained that the East Valley community suffered “one of the hardest hits.”

“The Gilbert Chamber, along with other East Valley Chambers, worked with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office to consolidate many of the cases in an attempt to have them dismissed. However, this is only a short-term solution,” they explained.

The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce hosted a “Share Your Story" event last week at a public hearing. The Chamber also ecourages members to contact Senate Judiciary Committee by sending emails to members of the committee. Those who email are asked to BCC the Chamber's lobbyists at eric@dornpolicygroup.com.

Senators on the Judiciary Committee are Judy Burgess (Chair), Nancy Barto (Vice Chair), Lupe Contreras, Andrea Dalessandro, Frank PrattMartin Quezada, and Bob Worsley.
