The results of a nationwide member profile from the National Association of Realtors indicate that 71 percent of Realtors enjoy volunteering in their communities.

The Arizona Association of Realtors looked to Facebook to see if the same was true for Realtors in Arizona. According to the Arizona Real Estate Agents' Give Back Facebook group, the Arizona Association of Realtors found that many of the group members like to give back in various ways throughout the community.

Some groups that benefit from the generosity of Realtors include The Girls Rule Foundation (supported by Stacy Slevin Krolak), the Furever Friends Rescue where Jane Skulstad volunteers, and the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance where Paula Selby volunteers. The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus also received a donation from Long Reality Cares Foundation.

Arizona Realtors also are being recognized through the Arizona Realtors Community Outreach Awards. Any Realtor, local association or MLS that has donated time, talent or money for the betterment of the community is eligible. The deadline for nominations is Aug. 25, and self-nominations will be accepted.

The winners, one Realtor and one Association or MLS, will win a grant for their charity of choice during the Fall Leadership Conference.
