Marriott International has approved plans for the development of a Fairfield Inn and Suites as an anchor to a mixed-use project by Virtua Partners in Tolleson, a recent release said.

The commercial real estate firm is planning a 120-room hotel in conjunction with Quyp Hospitality LLC, an affiliate of Virtua at the southeast corner of 91st Avenue and McDowell Road in Tolleson, the release said. The hotel will be the cornerstone of a 20-acre development that will include retail and multifamily properties.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to develop this highly visible property," Quinn Palomino, principal of Virtua Partners and Quyp Hospitality, said in a statement. "Market conditions in the West Valley are excellent and we expect growth to continue over the next few years. In addition, the city of Tolleson has been incredibly supportive of commercial development, which is one of the reasons we were attracted to this site."

The hotel will be operated by Hotel Equities, a company based in Atlanta.
