The Arizona Alliance for Community Health Centers (AACHC) recently said that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has a Healthy Communities Grant Program that was formed to work with communities to decrease environmental risks and advance the health of humans and overall quality of life.

The program is the EPA New England's "main competitive grant program," a release posted the AACHC website said.

The grant program aims to target resources to reduce environmental and human health risks and teach emergency preparedness and ecosystem resilience, the EPA said in the release. The program also aims to "build institutional and community capacity to understand and solve environmental and human health problems," the release said.

The deadline for submitting applications for the grant program is April 7, the release said.
