Arizona-based TASER International Inc. has added two key staff members to its team.

Kathy Trontell of Tesla has joined TASER as the chief information officer, and Jason Hartford, formally of GoPro, has taken the position of senior director of product management.

Rick Smith, TASER’s CEO and co-founder, said in a press release that he is thrilled with the hires.

“Both of these leaders are bringing key domain expertise from great companies to help our vision of building out the Axon network,” Smith said in the release.

Trontell has worked in IT, finance, sales strategy and operations and more at several top companies, including Telsa Motors, Symantec and Salesforce. She has a degree in architecture and mechanical engineering from Princeton University.

During his time at GoPro, Hartford oversaw the company’s development of the HERO4, HERO5 and Session cameras. He was also instrumental in the development of the 360/spherical capture devices. He earned his B.S. from Montana State University and an MBA at Arizona State University.

In addition, TASER has acquired Familiar, a photo sharing app. The company has also made other key hires over the past few years, including Hadi Partovi of Code.org and Bret Taylor, former CTO of Facebook.
