Young adults in Bullhead City have a chance to work alongside local law enforcement personnel as the jurisdiction’s police department activates its new Explorer Program for residents between the ages of 16 and 20.

The plan is offered by the department’s Explorer Post 1255. It empowers eligible participants to learn about law enforcement, receive training and mentorship and take part in hands-on events, according to a news announcement.

Individuals are expected to be of high moral character, and those younger than 18 will need parental consent to participate, according to the Bullhead City Police Department.

Area residents have until 5 p.m. Aug. 2 to submit applications to the city’s Human Resources Department. Students are advised that they will be asked to provide their most recent report card before they can be officially appointed as Explorers.

Ten positions are available. To join, visit www.bullheadcity.com.

For questions, contact Explorer Advisor Cpl. David Finney at 928-234-7506 or dfinney@bullheadcity.com or Committee Chair Cpl. Marvin Harris at 928-763-9200, ext. 203, or mharris@bullheadcity.com
