Hacienda HealthCare will celebrate its 50th anniversary this month and will host a community event to mark the organization’s milestone.

The event will take place from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 28 at its location at 1402 E. South Mountain Ave. in Phoenix.

Hacienda's special anniversary celebration will include the recognition of its supporters, board members and leaders for their dedication to the organization’s success.

“This milestone anniversary is a testament to the impact our organization has made on the countless infants, children, teens, and young adults with complex medical needs over the last half century,” Nancy Salmon, vice president of corporate communications for Hacienda HealthCare, said in a statement.  “We’re delighted to be joined by our supporters as we embrace the next 50 years of our mission.”

The event will include self-guided tours where visitors can learn about Hacienda’s programs and services and a display of artwork from the organization’s Technology Implementation Program (TIP), according to a press release. The art collection was created from 3-D print technology and laser printers.

Founded in 1967, Hacienda HealthCare was originally called Hacienda de los Angeles, the release said. Today, the organization has over 40 medical and therapeutic programs and services which it offers to medically fragile infants, children, teens and young adults as well as to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
