The city of Avondale recently extended its public transportation operation with the addition of a new ZOOM bus route for the north section of the city.

The new route serves neighborhoods, businesses and schools north of the freeway, according to a press release. The new route, ZOOM North, adds 10 miles to the ZOOM South circulator service route. The ZOOM North route gives riders access to stops at Gateway Pavilions, the Garden lakes community and Westview High School. The ZOOM service runs on weekdays and Saturdays every 30 minutes and costs 50 cents per ride.
