The city of Mesa has received recognition from the world’s largest provider of employee-assistance programs for its employee health and wellness program.

The city earned recognition as a Silver winner during the ComPsych 13th annual Health at Work Awards event, which honors organizations that promote employee health and wellness.

"It's wonderful to see how far the city of Mesa Wellness Program has come in this past year," Employee Health and Wellness Manager Nicole Stec said in a prepared statement. "With the implementation of several health education programs and events, the level of health awareness in our organization has increased significantly. We look forward to continuing to expand our opportunities for our employees and families."

The city’s health and wellness programs include healthy living workshops, diabetes education and tobacco-cessation programs, annual health fairs as well as monthly newsletters with weekly tips, recipes and other health information.

"We applaud the city of Mesa for promoting health and wellness and improving the lives of its employees," ComPsych Chairman and CEO Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz said in a statement.

ComPsych Corp. is a worldwide leader of employee assistance programs, including behavioral health, wellness, work-life, human resources, Family and Medical Leave Act and absence-management services.
