Mesa Scots-Tober Fest and Outlander Day to celebrate Scottish history

The city of Mesa will be filled with bagpipes and plaid as the Red Mountain Branch Library hosts Scots-tober Fest and Outlander Day this month.

In honor of the Celts historic ties to Halloween, the library will feature a Scottish-themed event with guest speakers, workshops on Scottish genealogy, travel, books and Scottish whiskey, which will take place at the library on Oct. 28.

Scots-tober Fest events include information on Scottish genealogy, dance, travel and culture presented by the Caledonian Society of Phoenix and a special Outlander celebration to go along with the popular Highland time travel book series by Scottsdale resident Diana Galbaldon.
