The Gilbert Chamber Foundation has begun its “Adopt A Senior” Program, marking the ninth year the foundation will help low-income, disabled and homebound seniors in conjunction with the Gilbert Senior Center.

As part of this year’s campaign, the Gilbert Chamber is asking community members to help fill a senior’s “wish list” and is also seeking donations of miscellaneous items, monetary donations to purchase gift cards. A wish list includes a variety of items requested by a senior and and an average list has about $25 worth of items. Participants shop for the items on the wish list and return the items to the chamber.

Donations of miscellaneous items such as magnets, mouthwash and other items that are useful to seniors are also being collected. The chamber is asking for items in quantities of 50 or more to be used in goody bags at the upcoming holiday party for seniors.

Anyone who would like to fill a wishlist, give a monetary donation or donate supplies for goody bags should contact Ashley Silva at ashley@gilbertchamber.com for more information.

Monetary donations may be sent to Gilbert Chamber Foundation, P.O. Box 527, Gilbert, Arizona 85299.
