A new military and veterans success center has opened near Luke Air Force Base as part of the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation’s Veteran Success Project, a program that establishes centers to help some of the estimated 532,000 veterans living in Arizona.

The new veterans success center, sponsored by Credit Union West, opened last month and will assist veterans with making the transition to civilian life after leaving the military.  The center will help veterans learn about the help they can receive for things such as college courses, financial literacy, housing and resume assistance.

Credit Union West’s sponsorship includes monetary and in-kind services of $60,000 over a period of five years.

“Credit Union West has a 65-year history of serving the military,” Credit Union West President and CEO Bob MacGregor said in a press release. “From our beginnings as Luke Federal Credit Union, we expanded to serve Maricopa and Yavapai counties but still embrace our military roots. We are proud to pledge on-going support of the Military and Veteran Success Center.”

Founded in 1951, Credit Union West serves over 63,000 members with more than $650 million in assets.
