The City of Maricopa will host its Santa Run for the second year in a row, complete with runners in Santa suits and Maricopa's own Mayor Christian Price participating in the event dressed as the jolly old elf.

The annual Santa Run, a one-mile run and walk event, takes place Saturday with participants over age 18 receiving a full Santa suit upon registration. The event will take place as part of the Merry Copa Holiday Festival at Copper Sky Park. 

Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for teens 13 through 17, with $2 of every registration being donated to the MPD Foundation. The race is for those age 12 and under is free and no official registration is required. 

Registration may be done online at www.maricopa-az.gov/web/merrycopa-santa-run or on site beginning at 3 p.m. on the day of the event. Same-day registration is $40 for adults and $30 for runners 13 to 17. 

Registration is limited to 300 participants and no refunds will be issued.
