The City of Surprise is seeking qualified nonprofits to provide public service needs as part of the city's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The CDBG funds are used to provide a public service, including labor, supplies, materials and other costs, which are new or a quantifiable increase in the current level of service. Some of the public services in the CDBG include child care, youth services, health care, educational programs, job training and creation as well as veteran services.

Nonprofits that apply must supply one or more of the targeted public services outlined and serve mostly low- to moderate-income community members in the City of Surprise.

Applications, maps and other pertinent information may be downloaded at surprise.gov/cdbgpublicservice. Applications must be postmarked by the Jan. 30 deadline. Applications dropped off at City Hall must be turned in no later than 2 p.m. on Jan. 31.

Contact Alicia Rubio at alicia.rubio@surpriseaz.gov or at 623-222-3240 for more information.
