Mesa CPA Christopher Jones has been appointed to the City of Mesa Board of Adjustment.

As a member of the city's seven-member citizen advisory board, Jones will work with other members to decide on variances and special use permit requests as well as provide interpretations of the city's zoning ordinance and sign code.

Jones, who will serve a three-year term on the board, is a partner at Schmidt Westergard & Co., where he specializes in audited and reviewed financial statements and financial analysis. His accounting and tax service experience includes the areas of health care, construction, real estate, manufacturing, services, railroads and nonprofit organizations. 

Jones also serves on the Mesa United Way's finance committee and also has experience in serving on several other different boards and committees. 

Established in 1968, Schmidt Westergard is a leading firm in the accounting industry and includes over three dozen tax audit and accounting professionals. In addition to Jones, Westergard's other partners are James Schmidt, Lynn Westegard, Jeffrey Bither and Todd Trendler.
