Gilbert Leadership is celebrating its 25th year with the creation of a time capsule that is slated to be opened on the program's 50th anniversary.

The Gilbert Leadership Board of Directors and its alumni collected mementos from the Gilbert Leadership program's past 25 years and placed them in a time capsule placed at HD South, home of the Gilbert Historical Museum.

“The history of the town is an important part of the development process during the Gilbert Leadership program,” co-founder of Gilbert Leadership and president and CEO of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Kathy Tilque said in a press release. “To be able to capture items from the program during the first 25 years, knowing that this capsule won’t be open till the program celebrates its 50th year, is incredibly exciting.”

The time capsule includes items such as class photos and memorabilia from class projects as well as John Maxwell's 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader, which is part of the Gilbert Leadership class reading material.

Gilbert Leadership, sponsored by the Gilbert Chamber Foundation, is a 10-month program that focuses on Gilbert's assets and history. Since the program's beginning, it has been known as the premier leadership program for the community's next generation of leaders.
