Avondale Fire & Medical will host a two-day Child and Babysitting course that covers common safety practices while caring for children.

The class is designed for teens who want to babysit. Certification will be provided to participants who complete both training days. 

Workshops taught by Avondale Fire & Medical safety professionals will cover CPR/AED, first aid, child care basics, emergency preparedness, drowning awareness and fire safe practices. 

The training will be held on Jan. 20 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Avondale Fire Station No. 172 on North 107th Avenue. Cost for the training is $25, with lunch included. 

Registration is required. Those interested in reserving a spot at the training should contact Sue Anglin at sanglin@avondaleaz.gov or 623-333-6112.
