The 11th annual SRP Water Conservation Expo will take place March 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SRP PERA Club, 1 E. Continental Drive in Tempe.

Valley residents will learn how to save water and money since outdoor use accounts for about 70 percent of the Phoenix metropolitan area’s water use. The expo is considered the largest national one-day distribution event of Rain Bird "smart" irrigation controllers, which use weather data to automatically determine watering run times, saving at least 20 percent of water compared to traditional controllers.

The first 1,000 SRP water shareholders or power customers who register for and attend the event may purchase either a Rain Bird ESP-SMTe smart irrigation controller (retail value $329.85) or a Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller (retail value $249.99) for just $50 plus tax at the expo.

The three- and six-station expansion modules for the Rain Bird controller will also be available at discounted prices for expo attendees.
