House of Refuge is asking individuals and businesses to participate in a fundraising event for the homeless on May 4 from 6-9 p.m. at TopGolf Gilbert. 

The faith-based, nonprofit organization will use the proceeds to fund their drug- and alcohol-free, work-based transitional housing program that includes full wraparound support services.

House of Refuge also offers services such as case management, financial literacy, and employment assistance to help residents transition and be more self-sufficient. It has been successful in helping the homeless at a vulnerable point in their lives.

“We get groceries and clothes here, and they tell us about resources like Maricopa Workforce," a reasident said in a news release. "Maricopa Workforce is paying for me to get my dental assistant degree and I wouldn’t have found it without the help of the resource center.”

The fundraiser will include appetizers, dinner, dessert, a silent auction, games, and networking opportunities. Individual tickets, private bays and sponsorship information are available.
