The state is looking for ways to manage tax dollars efficiently by reducing costs. 

According to Gov. Doug Ducey, over $31 million will be saved over the next seven years if state vehicles and personal vehicle reimbursements are reduced.

This reduction requires the involvement of state agency directors to ensure they run departments that are both “efficient and effective.” To accomplish this, the departments will stop using about 700 vehicles.

 “The reduction in state vehicles is a prime example of how public dollars are being responsibly managed," Ducey said. "By taking a hard look at where our government can be more cost-effective, we are saving millions of dollars and reducing the size of government.”
