About 40.4 percent of the 36,420 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Phoenix-Arizona in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Tempe conferred 5923 bachelor's degrees and 3064 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Data shows the school gave out 4604 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General, followed by 2073 master's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General and 1920 associate's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General.

The university enrolled 131,629 students for 2016-17, including 103,711 in undergraduate programs and 27,918 in graduate programs.
