About 26.6 percent of the 2,467 degrees and certificates handed out by the Chandler-Gilbert Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Visual and Performing Arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Chandler conferred 650 certificates and 7 associate's degrees in Visual and Performing Arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Art/Art Studies, General. Data shows the school gave out 644 certificates in Art/Art Studies, General, followed by 565 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies and 187 certificates in Business/Commerce, General.

The college enrolled 14,630 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
