About 22.8 percent of the 680 degrees and certificates handed out by the Pima Medical Institute-Mesa in 2016-17 were to students in Medical/Clinical Assistant, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Mesa conferred 155 certificates in Medical/Clinical Assistant.

Other popular programs include Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide, Dental Assisting/Assistant and Occupational Therapist Assistant.

The institute enrolled 1,037 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
